"dll's" and specific file associations

How do I locate all "dll" , registry and other file associations for a specific program?

I use Win98SE. I need to take a program from my laptop and place it in my desktop. I do not have the original install program. This is a legal prog and registered to me. Not a hack. And I have a 3 user license for it.

Is it even possible to do this?

You may want to look at this Process Explorer, It shows what dll's a program needs to run But as for Reg keys I guess just look under the programs manufactur or program name in the registry.

I seriously doubt you'd be able to extract all the necessary keys from the Registry. You'd need to get absolutely everything ... and this also assumes the program does not update a file in the systems folder. Not sure what you could do about this.

If it's a legal, registered program, can't you contact the software company and get a new CD, set of disks, etc?

Also, if you have the legal serials just download it from the internet again and use your own licences.

Thank you everyone. I have never tried to move a program in this manner and did not think it would be easy...more like 'near impossibe' or everyone would do it.

Thought it would save some time if I could do it so...

I will contact the mfr and see if they can send me an install disk.

Cheers
