MS Word XP Question

in word from office xp, if i wanted to have a whole page full of random characters using all(some) of the characters that are available in the "insert -> special characters" part, is there an easier way to do it w/out picking and choosing each character from the mentioned dialog? or do i have a time consuming task ahead of me?

WEll I don't know about a WHOLE page, but I do know you can assign hot keys to commonly used symbols.

You go to the same page where you find the symbols and the sybols you use the most you just assign the hotkey to them on the Assign Hotkey button. it will open a new page for you to select your hotkey. (aka: keyboard shortcut)

I do this all the time for symbols I use all the time in word.

What kind of document are you creating that would need you to insert a whole page of these characters?

okay I just figured out how to get a full page of random symbols. Why you would want this I don't know.

But just open an existing document that is already all typed up full page worth, if you don't want to use one of your existing documents, then just grab a book and start typing as fast as you can for a full page.

Then do:

1: Edit/Select All
2. Change the font to Symbols.
3. Viola, you got a full page of symbols.

Is this what you want?


Edit: if you are wanting to do this for security purposes this is not a good way to do it, its betst to use some sort of encription software that can't be broken without a key. A page full of symbols like I just describe how to do, anyone will be able to change it back to any other font and read what you had typed up in the first place.

Just a shot in the dark trying to guess why you want a page full of symbols.
