| Strange "access denied" problem...
Another XP problem to add to the list
Well its not my computer but anyway, my friend had a computer with XP Pro on his kinda old computer. It recently just kinda gave up on him so he broke down and bought a dell. He wanted to transfer his "My Doc's" folder from his old harddrive to his new dell computer. So he setup his old HDD as the slave on the dell and it recognized the drive fine and everything but there is a problem. When he went to get his necessary files from his user profile folder (D:\Documents and Settings\Al) it gave him the error:
D:\Documents.......\Al is not accessible.
Access Denied.
Now Im assuming it has something to do with the user folders being restricted to outside users (so they obviously cant tamper), but how would he access the folder now that its a slave? In fact, he cant even set that old HDD to the master because he says it just wont boot into windows at all.
He says he can access EVERY other folder on the drive when its a slave EXCEPT his user folder.
I dont know too much about XP prob's so hopefully someone here does! hehe. thanks in advance.
