| Outlook Express, Message Rules?
I've used Message Rules to ward off unwanted or unsolicited forms of E-mail. Many of us have. Out of the blue I thought I would see if it really works.
(After all, I've been using Outlook Express's "Message Rules" for quite a long time.) Message Rule#1
Box 1 (Conditions)
Checked off, "Where the Message body contains specific words"
Box 2, (Actions)
Checked off, "Delete it from server"
Box 3, (Description)
Classmates
I then typed, "Classmates" into the body of the E-mail and sent an HTML E-mail to myself.
I received the Email!
Outlook Express 6
v6.00.2600.0000
Anyone know what's up here?
Cheers! |

try the same test but send it to yourself from a hotmail account or something and not your own email, may have reconized your own addy and deemed it safe. not sure tho. |

Not directly no but that does appear to be a good rule to create DVNT1.
hey NeoStarO1. If you're around, could you please send me a quick E-mail with Classmates in the body please? I don't have an alternate E-mail addy. I only need the one.
Cheers! |

Use your blocked senders list instead and block out the entire sending domain, rather than using a message rule with the word "Classmates".
So for instance, if you're wanting to block, say, blahblah@classmates.com, input classmates.com into your blocked senders list and all mail coming from that domain will be blocked. |

The only problem with Blocked Senders is that the E-mail still gets downloaded to your computer although into the Deleted items folder.
Thanks DVNT1. I didn't get the E-mail. Looks like your assumption that my own addy was recognised and passed the E-mail through.
Thanks all. |
