KDE 3, is there an EASY way to upgrade???
I'm using 3.0.0 on RH7.3, and I had an install where I was using KDE 3.0.3 on the same distro, but it was an absolute nightmare trying to do it and it never worked out quite right.
I noticed a couple things by doing a google search:
Everything thing that talked about upgrading used a couple simple commands with apt-get, but as far as I know, apt doesn't work on Redhat (Debian right?).
Is there an easy way to do this in RedHat, or should I just live with a couple bugs?

How fast is your box? I'm using the exact same distro and I just compiled KDE 3.0.5 from source last night. I didn't take anywhere near as long as I thought it would and wasn't anwhere near as hard as I thought it would. The only really confusing part was getting my environment right (I installed RH w/o KDE) and I can send you my .bash_profile if you're interested. It's really easy if you can get past that.
FWIT, this box is a 1600+ but it's running pc133 so it's probably not much better off than your average T-Bird - it took about 5 hrs overall I think..Where's Lunch?

The easiest way i know is go to ftp.redhat.org, find and download the KDE rpms into a directory. Open a console, cd to that directory. Use this command- rpm -i *. logout and log back in to KDE or restart x.
I had to use the --nodeps switch to install KDE 3.0.5, but there are no problems I can find with the install.

Wow, Germ that was easy
I thought it mattered the order you installed them, but I just did:
rpm -Uvh --nodeps, rebooted (and I had to recompile the liquid theme), and it was working perfectly under 3.0.3-0.7
