Xp Installer problem
Have tried to install/uninstall several items on my new lappy running XP Home. I have been getting the message "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed."
Whats up? Anyone know how to fix this? OS installation problem??

Seems fixed after doing a full system restore.
Hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Perhaps the windows installer got corrupted. It's a service that starts automatically whenever a program requests it.
You could've installed a new windows installer and perhaps it would've fixed that.
Usually it's a package called instmsi?.exe

Make sure the valve cover isn't slightly warped too - I changed gaskets 3 times before realizing. At least on my 1988 it's aluminum, not sure yours had the same issue in your year.
