I vote Opera. I was just converted after a reinstall of Win2k because of a screwed up IE6 update. It's quick and easy to use. Excellent alternative.

I was just checking out mozilla, but it lacked 1 thing that I use all the time, the back and forward on my trackball. I don't want to install the extra software from MS for my trackball to get this and IE uses it without the driver. So for now, IE6.
Opera, not fond of ads. That's the only reason, that and If I have to pay to get the ads removed it better have some extremely great features. |

I voted Mozilla.
After using Opera for a while, then switching over to Mozilla, which I still use now, I can't stand Internet Explorer. The only good thing about IE is that every website works with it.
Opera is actually quite good, and it competes very well with Mozilla. However, it seems that Mozilla won me over for now.

im all about Galeon Galeon is just like mozilla actually it is a distant relative but galen seems to me to be a bit more user friendly and it doesnt wait to get the whole webpage before displaying like mozilla does. Mozilla seems to be slow on most of my systems... IMO

I use Mozilla, but have recently been experiencing some 'pauses'. Doesn't seem to happen with any specific event though. Maybe a re-install will help; I'm planning on doing so in the near future. LOVE the wood skin for it though. I used to use Netscape 4.7 and preferred it to IE, if for no other reason than the security holes in IE. Haven't used Opera, as I'm not going to pay for it when I can get several other browsers free.
Tygur- My website used to be screwed up under IE, but not NS or Mozilla. There are also some things that you *don't* want to work that work under IE only. (At least through IE 5.5, the JavaScript engine allowed a script to write to the windoze registry. )

Tis true. IE allows all kinds of broken code, sloppy code, and just plain wrong code to work. And NO this is not a good thing.
Also, plenty of correct code doesn't work in IE, because it's a crappy browser.
Check out this page: http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/edg...iral/demo.html
Works as it should in Mozilla. Don't know about Opera, but I bet it works fine. It doesn't work as intended in IE, even though the code 100% complient with the W3C standards so ALL browsers should be able to view it correctly. |
