    Easy XP settings question.

This should be an easy one.

I have a new Dell with xp for some friends of mine. I set them up each one with an account.

Then of course I notice that I add a shortcut to the desktop on his account and its not on her desktop.

How can I go through and make all the changes I want to make at once without having to try and duplicate everything??

    Thanks, JP

You should be able to do this by making the shortcuts in the "All Users\Desktop" directory.

You might try "gpedit.msc" from 'Run'.

You should use the 'sysprep' utility.

Err.. Why should he use the sysprep util?

Afaik sysprep prepares the system to be ghosted or for something similar action (it erases unique identifiers etc.)

He could use the -pnp option so that he wouldn't have to do a fresh install everytime.
It's NOT just for ghosting/removing SID's. It's for making the multiple install process easier.
