Help for WinMe to Xp upgrade

Well, i got XP for my grandma and i was going to do a format for her, but since i cannot give her my OfficeXP to use and she can't afford the $60 for it i am forced to do a upgrade.

Do i need to do anything special to make sure this upgrade goes good for her? I got her a cd-rw drive when i ordered my stuff from newegg so she can do backups, and a network card so i can bring her pc over here and download needed stuff for XP.

I really wish i could of formated because there will be some problems when upgrading. But i'll see how it goes.

The only thing I would say before upgrading (and you've probably heard this millions of times...) is to disable or uninstall any virus scanning software as that can sometimes interfere. Apart from that I would expect that everything should run smoothly.
