    Lilo

    Is it possible to add windows so it is in the menu for the Lilo boot loader in Redhat Linux 8?

    I installed Linux on my IDE bus, but now its connected to my RAID/ATA bus (onboard). Now it says that it can't find the swap, however, Linux boots and runs just fine (appearently.) How do I change the settings for the swap.

    hello,
    did you opt to install lilo instead of grub? if so add this to /etc/lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo

    Code:
    other=/dev/hda2
    label=dos
    you can make the label anything you like - it does not have to be dos.

    Yes, I did install Lilo instead of grub. I'm sort of new at this, how do I open the file to add it? Every time I try to open it I get a "open with" dialouge. I'm assuming I have to be logged in as root as well to modify the file?

    Thanks

    Ok I modified the .conf file, but I can't run /sbin/lilo. Konsole tells me "fatal: open /dev/hdc: No such device or address."

    What's your current lilo.conf? What partitions do you have?
