How do I change a FAT 32 File system to a NTFS filing system

How do I do this? I'm trying to convert my second drive which really is a back up or storage. Thanks for any input on this

assuming you are using w2k or xp, open a command prompt window and type:

convert X: /fs:ntfs

X would be the drive letter you wanted to convert

There is a program called "partition magic"

partition magic 8

should be able convert ntfs to fat 32, vice versa. Im not totally sure though.

or you could do it the way prester said.

oh, i nearly forget...you will have to reboot the machine before the conversion will run.

Ok it tells me that convertion is complete now. I'm going to reboot to see if it did it. Thanks again

I really need help....(begging) when i format my USB it keep on saying "format not complete" or it is write protected".....i spend my whole day sitting infront of my comp to surf the net for help.....and i need some help for how to change me device type from FAT to FAT32................HOPE U ALL CAN HELP ME
