| Windows XP burning utility?
Doesn't windows XP have a built-in burning utility? I upgraded from 98 so everything pretty much stayed the same classic interface, how do I change it to where I can burn? All I want to do is burn a copy of a program and put it on this other computer. My old utility bit the dust, and my nero demo will not work, thus the xp burner question.
TIA! |

Yes, it does - go to My computer, right-click your CD burner, and there should be a tab for CD-burning
enable it and select the appropriate speed and copy files from the source to the blank cd using explorer |

You can drag the files to the CD burner drive then click Burn disk(or a button like that).

The built-in software is of the packet-writer variety, like Nero InCD and Adaptec DirectCD. You will probably have to format the CD first and you may have to "close" the CD, or "Finalize" the session, before you can read it on other systems. I suggest you try it and see if it works for you. Otherwise, considering new CD burners, with Nero cost as little as $20 U.S. after rebates, rather than buying Nero or Easy CD Creator, it would be more economical to buy a new burner. |

No formatting necessary. It works just like Nero doing compilations. Just add files and burn. Need to add more later, no prob. Just select the files you want to burn, and your off. The CD can be read on most any system.
