IE6 no longer opens

Tis a strange problem I've come across, and I've never heard of such a thing before: I had 4-5 Internet Explorer windows open and one was maximized, when I went to close the window on the taskbar (right-click -> close) my mouse cursor had slipped (MSFT Intellimouse Optical) and I hit the mouse button (don't remember which one) and then all 4-5 IE windows closed at once.

It's kind of hard to explain because I don't exactly understand what happened. At any rate, now I can't seem to open IE at all. I normally use the icon in the Quick Launch Tray - now it doesn't work, I tried the executable, other shortcuts, etc -> even tried using Windows Explorer and typed in an internet address (I tried Start->Run->"http://www.msn.com" also) and still no go. What happens is the Internet Explorer will open up for a split second and then automatically close. One second it was working, then the above incident happens and now it's not. This only happens with IE, no other browser or program.

I have WinXP Pro Corporate with all of the critical updates (except SP1) and recommended updates installed. For now I'm restricted to using Mozilla and that browser doesn't always work right with the Admin page at the site I work at. I thought maybe it was the google toolbar, but I uninstalled that and still nothing. I have no other toolbars installed.

I'd appreciate any help, plz!

Got it fixed...

This is what happened: I have an ad blocker software called POW! by AnalogX and the way the software works is you can drag windows to the icon in the system tray or you can open up the software and manually add Ads. I have Internet Explorer set to open on a blank page (no homepage set) and somehow "about:blank" was added to the list of "ads" to block. I disabled POW! and now everythings fine (I looked for the entry of "about:blank" to remove from the list but none was their).

Anyway, thanks.
