Unable to embed a word document to excel

When I try to embed a word document to excel (by using 'Insert->Object->Microsoft Word Document) I get an error (once again this is a free translation):

'Object Cannot Be Created'

and excel will refuse to insert the object. If I set it to add the object 'from file' excel crashes.

System info:
Toshiba SP4600, w2k with office2k sp2.

Every other object can be embedded.

I tried 'reinstall office' from add/remove programs but it didn't solve the problem.

Took me a while to figure this one.

1. Insert>Object
2. Click the "Create from File" tab
3. Browse the object "file" you want to embed.
4. Click Insert
5. should show up in excell now.

LMK if this doesn't work for you.
I had been getting same errors as yourself till playing around.

Observe the second sentence, I can't do that as stated.
What does 'LMK' mean?
