Trying Knoppix

A friend gave me a Linux version called Knoppix on a cd to try. Knoppix 3.2 a few days old. Tried it on a pc at work, ran it off the cd. He said at the boot prompt type: knoppix lang=us It worked fine at work, this morning I download and burn the latest version ,put in one of my pcs , type the same and it loads but its all in german. Any ideas on where Im going wrong? Maybe it only comes in german in this version?

Take a look at this thread there is a link to the commands, but " knoppix lang=us" should change the lang, shift 0 makes the "=" in case you didn't know

Your "shift-0" was the trick. But how come I didn't have to "shift-0" on my work pc to get english? Thank you very kindly.

Because the latest version you downloaded has the

DE in the name........... you want the one that says EN .......that's the english version.

Just go to the mirrors and look for this one:
KNOPPIX_V3.2-2003-03-24-EN.iso

Notice the EN at the end of the file name...it denotes English.

I got it to work.
