Setup.exe - errors: Win2KPro

Fellow Members:

I'm using Win2KPro with IWill XP333 board, XP1900+, 512MB PC2700 DDR, Matrox Parhelia vidcard with a pair of SynMaster displays plus other "stuff." Up till yesterday extremely stable system. All software & HW working and I'm using up-to-date anti-virus program, daily scans.

My WordPerfect (Suite 2000) would shut down everytime I would perform a "spell-check" on a document. This was bugging me, as I draft many docs per day and spelling is important. I decided to reload WP.

When I attempt to re-install via Add/Remove Programs or Auto-Load (spinning in CDRom drive), I get the following message:

Setup has generated errors. You will have to restart Windows. An Error Log is being created.

How bad off am I? Not reinstall OS time, is it?

I would uninstall before re-installing. It won't remove any of your documents, so don't worry.

There's also a patch that addresses your Spell Check problem. BUT, you have to have SP4. It's not available for download, you either have to contact Corel, or buy the WP w/ SP4.

So, uninstall WP, re-install, then apply the Hot Patch.
