cs server in linux?

i am wanting to run a cs server in linux for my cs clan. i know it's possible, i just don't know the name of the kind of server it is, or how to setup. if someone could either walk me through it or find me a tutorial. thanks.

Is there anywhere I can d/load the linux server file(hlds_l3110.tar.gz) besides FilePlanet?

Some distros let you download from them (gentoo) Here are some FTP sites too:
ftp://downloads.gameland.tiscali.no/.../Server/linux/
ftp://ftp.physics.auth.gr/pub/mirror.../server/linux/
A quick google for CS Server Linux threw these up. Much more there. (and howtos)

I was really getting tired of FilePlanet bumping me off, and stalling my connection especially when I was just a MB away from having it donwloaded.

I searched on Google, but I searched using the file name, not what you did. Doh! Oh well...

On your links, they have the file named 'cs_15_full.tar.gz' but on the CS Server site they make a reference to the file named 'hlds_l3103.tar.gz' They are different files, aren't they? I thought that the 'cs_15_full.tar.gz' was the mod for HL, while 'hlds_l3103.tar.gz' was the dedicated server. I'm not wanting to play CS on this machine, but I'm wanting to make a dedicated CS server.

Any help is appreciated!
