Purchasing Linux -do you?

Here are just a few of the recent boxed sets I have laying around, I have thrown out just as many old previous editions of Caldera OpenLinux, Redhat, and SuSE....

Still waiting on Drake 9.1 PowerPack -for which I have already paid. I have spent about $1500-$2000 on Linux and Linux realted software. I just curious how much other people have forked out for "free" software?

I've got the same 8.0 Mandrake set , and before I had cable access, I bought ALOT of download sets at about $10 each set to keep current. I am a member of the mandrake club.

For all of my Linux software plus my mandrakeclub memberships, I'd say in the last 3 years I've spent around $300 ...... not to bad for staying current and helping mandrakesoft.

I've bought SuSE 8.0 and really liked it. It was the first distro I used that I really feel in love with. Truly a class act if you like KDE.

I will be buying RH 9 once some cash breaks loose. I'm a big fan of that distro and will definitely be supporting thier cause.

I bought SuSE 6.2 when it came out its manual is still the best book on Linux I have. But as i prefer Debian the only thing i did was to buy the cd's off a supplyer.

Although now that i am starting to get a real job i may yet spend a bit more money on it

I've really not purchased much...bought Mandrake like 6 back in the day to get started with linux on the dialup. Since then we've really only bought WineX and Crossover Office (Really worth it for me to write in Spanish as Star and Open dont map keys at all). Does debian supply box sets

I only bought Mandrake 8.0! The rest I've downloaded, or have been sent by jkrohn and CMonster himself.

The only linux I've ever bought, was when I bought a book called "Linux Crash Course" It came with Redhat 6.2 WOW!! Since then I've always just d/loaded the distros mainly mandrake. DSL really helped me decide to start downloading them. Better than dialup!

David

Oh, BTW, the book was about $12!
