WordPerfect 10 Spell Check

On one computer in this office, in WordPerfect 10, when the user spell checks, it does not Ignore Possessive case. MY computer does ignore the possessive (I used my own name, with possessive, and Spell Check went right by. On HIS machine, it stops on every one.) I thought it might be a setting somewhere. How does one set this up? I've checked all the possibilities with no luck. I sure hope someone can make me look good by finding the answer!

I use WP10 at my office and have never had it to check or stop when it sees an 's. I just opened up a file to see if I could make it do that and there's no way I could make it mess up. I think you should reinstall WP10 and see if that takes care of it. WP10 should breeze by anything with an 's without note/error. I even went under the Tools; Settings; to see if there was anywhere under there that could be doing it but nothing's in there you could accidently turn on which would make it see them as " 's" as an error. I'm no expert in computers but I've been using WP at my law office for years and have never had that happen. The only other possiblity would be under the Options feature of Spell Check. Open a document, engage spell check and look to the bottom right for the Options button. Click there and see if anything unusual is checked. Mine didn't have anything referring to 's I could turn on or off but it wouldn't hurt to check.

This reply is from my wife who has used Word Perfect since it first came out in DOS. Maybe try re-installing the software???

I fully agree with everything you said. I checked the same things in my WP10 on my computer and we couldn't get it to duplicate the problem. At one time it DID duplicate the problem, but once I closed and re-opened WP10, it stopped. So I have already planned to get someone to reinstall it.
