Can the font colors on Win XP desktops be changed?

Quick question for everyone. Win XP has white fonts for the desktop icons, and I would like to change it. I'm testing out a white colored wallpaper, and it leaves the text almost unreadable. I know about turning off drop shadows for icon labels, but I was hoping to find a way to just change the color of the font itself. Can it be done? Thanks for your help.

I know you can change the font style and even the size but not sure how to change color.
Go to Display Properties click on the Appearance tab then click on where it says Advanced. Then just scroll thru the list under "item:"
and it will give you a list of things to change ,Select "Icon" and it gives you a choice to change font and also the size but not color.
Try messing around here to see if you can do that.
