It does give you the option of 8 virtual drives vs 4 in Daemon. When both are installed together, ya' can have a total of 12 virtual drives.

I've used Nero in the past, it can mount a virtual CD to image files (.nrg)
Worked well when I didn't want to keep flipping disks around.
However no-CD patches are still the best method for most things. |

Except when you can't find a no-CD patch that works right. I've been trying to scrounge up one that works right for Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors. I had one many moons ago, but it got lost somewhere amongst the many reinstalls of windows. The one I have right now works perfectly for single player, but I can't play multiplayer with it, which is mostly what I do with AOE anyway.
Also, I downloaded Alcohol 52 (virtual CD only, no burn software) and it works perfectly. Got these CD images to mount, and it was quite easy. |

I've tried both Alcohol 52 and CloneCD to create images of game cds so I woul;dn't have to worry about having the cd to play. The images do not work. I don't know if it is something to do with copy protection on the disks or what, but with the hassles to try and create a working image, it is easier to use the actual cd, IMO. |

Alcohol 120% is my favourite, it allows you to create multiple virtual drives and map iso's or other images to them |

I'll toss in another vote for Daemon Tools. It's free too!
edit: and you can also have more than one virtual drive. |
