AVG Grisoft problems always on 1st internet session only!!
On initial start-up of my computer everything works fine except AVG; When I attempt to log onto the internet for the first time ONLY, the computer/connection freezes. I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL my way out of the situation and re-start the whole computer again. When fully powered up, I have discovered that by temporarily disabling the AVG shield I can log on to the web. When connected, I can then go back to AVG and enable the shield. The curious thing is that when I then tempoarily disconnect from the web and then wish to re-connect on a 2nd, 3rd, 4th occasion , I can do so without having to go through the disable & enable AVG shield procedure. It is only when I shut the computer down and then power up again in another session (say a few hours later or on another day) then I have to go through the same initiation ceromony, unless of course I disable the AVG shield in the very first instance !! Any ideas why this problem/conflict might be happening and what if anything I can do to stop this from occuring?

Have you tried just disabling the AVG update feature? That could be the problem causing little begger right there. Had a problem with that update option and my firewall...
Second question: What type of internet connection? (DSL, cable, 56K, psychic...)
