i installed roxio easy cd creator(just the label creation part).
i then rebooted. i dont think thats the problem but that was the last thing i remember doing and now when i log back in, 2K told me my profile was missing or corrupt. now i lost my settings and i dont want to have to go back and set it all up again including email. is ther a way to fix this issue?

You could try setting up another user name and password and then login with the new account to build a 'blank' profile. Then login as administrator (or at least another account with admin rights). Right click My Computer and then click the user profiles tab. Highlight the corrupt profile and then click the copy to button. Browse to the profile folder for the new 'blank' profile and allow overwrite for all.
This will force the system to copy the corrupt profile into a new space on the Hard Drive for the new profile. It may fix or correct a lot of files in the process.
Once the copy is done, login with the new previously blank account to see how much transferred.
If the above works then you might want to create a third profile using this copy procedure, just to have a backup to login to or copy from.

bad things man, bad things......
Log in as admin.
Download the roxio patch.
then try your profile again.
If no good, then re-log in as admin, delete the roxio stuff, EZ CD and such.
Then try again.

I have a friend whose W2K admin profile is goofed and she has no other admin profiles. Can she still copy the admin profile like cadetstimp suggested?
Is there any other way to repair a profile??

Had a user delete the admin profile (it was renamed to something else) and when they rebooted got the BSOD dump. Never could get back in. Had to restage.
