Hey, I got an idea. Every time you want to open or close the cat door, set the refresh rate of your monitor to 60, then quickly back to 85. It's like a garage door opener for free.
Heck, you could probably write an sh script that did that. Call it opendoor.sh and closedoor.sh. All they do is tweak the refresh rate  |

Wow, I remember this thread.
Never really checked back to see the solution to the problem. Refresh rate screws with cat door. When's the cat door company going to issue a recall on the thing?

this is still going on you know! almost 2 years now - all my computers apart from the one im typing on (cos im at work) run linux and the cat dorr still goes mad when i boot the computers up ! tried everything moving the computers - emp sheilding around the cat flap - poor sylvester (my cat ) runs off its like the door wants to eat him! |

Disconnect the mouse and run a copy of tom and jerry from redmond studios...............

Are you on a network?
Make sure you are using (at least) cat5 cabling. A better cat might just be the answer.  |
