Task Manager Unstable, I don't know why.
I'm using Windows 2000 SP3, and I am having a problem with task manager. My security patches are current, they are the same ones that shipped with SP4, but were released also as a separate SP3 update.
It seems the longer I leave my computer running, the more likely task manager is to crash when I invoke it. Usually when I try to ctrl+alt+del, or open it from the taskbar, taskmgr crashes thusly "Program Error: tasmrg.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows." Then it tries to load DrWatson (which I previously removed from the PC), and then the whole mess crashes miserably, taking a bunch of other systray apps with it. Reboot, etc.
Of course, I re-extracted the file from te CAB set, no works. I know it's not a virus, I know it's not a trojan. I know what it's not, but not what it is.
Thanks for reading this. Has anyone ever has a similar problem?
Respectfully,
mike

you can google AV Music Morpher Gold from Audio4fun, it allows you to cut, paste, mix songs and add other effects as well! A cool software that I'm using at the moment! Hope it helps!
