Edit a .gif

How do I edit a gif? I have one I want to keep just one frame from. Actually I guess what I want to do is pick it apart and keep a frame, I think . Or just a couple frames that I want to make play over and over. What I want is to make the little truck sit in one spot and squirt water over and over. Then figure out how to use it as my avatar.

Try Animagic GIF Animator. It is shareware but it has a 30 day trial. I have made about 6 different gifs and have taken apart 2 gif's. Works weel for me.
You can get it HERE
hope this helps!

I extracted the frames using this little program: WWW Gif Animator 1.1

Then you can play with the images with this freeware program: Irfanview

PSP with Animation Shop will do it as well, although not free...

If you have Photoshop 5.5 or 6.0, you can use Image Ready also...

i've found image ready a bit confusing when trying to play with gifs like that. i prefer psp's animation shop, which isn't great, but it is pretty straightforward and easy to use.

I use the free-be, Ulead Gif Animator v 1.0.0.0 for ease of use. It was on the Cool 3D CD. Doesn't get any more simplistic. ImageReady I use the odd time.

Cheers!
