| Icq ( Invisible Feature )
i'm alwayes chat with icq but i have a question , can i know if one of the users in my contact list is really offline or he is just invisible?
plz note that i'm using Icq 2003a
i hope to find a solution, |

nope you cant, unless he/she puts you on their invisible list (somewhere in the settings)

Or....you send them a msg and they happen to reply back. lol. To you it would say they're offline (but in actuallity they're invisible to you) but if they were to reply back...then they would show up as being online.

and many peoples tried it i'm sure., but just all of you don't know.

I know you could in older versions of icq, not sure about newer versions
They were idiots when they first designed it.
The way it used to work was when you came online icq would poll the status of everybody on your contact list. If user b returned status INVISIBLE then it would show offline on your list  So people just made an app that looks for the return of INVISIBLE status and they would tell you who was invisible.
The way that would make sense, would be for the server to respond OFFLINE so the user (you) would never know.
Maybe there's a reason he doesn't want you to see him/her?!  |

I've got agree with Vass's last statement.
I'm an AIM user and I'd like to think there's at least some privacy so not everyone in the world knew when you were online. Some times you really just want to talk to one or two people and not the world.
