using internet explorer

I have just installed win2k on my pc. all seems to be fine except when I am surfing the web.

When i type in the web site url, I get the

"This page cannot be displayed"

obviously something like www.google.com will alway (well I would of though) be there.

I need to refresh several times before I get the page up. Sometimes if I click on a link, it goes to that

"This page cannot be displayed"

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to look at?

Please help cos surfing has just become unbearable.

Have you set up your Dial-up or LAN settings properly. If you're connecting via a LAN, you need to set the DNS and Default gateway in network settings->tcp/ip->advanced to the IP address of the machine sharing the network, otherwise, make sure your dial up settings are correct and that you're connected.

Under the security tab, we are looking at medium.

Under the Advance tab, we have,

Check for publishers certificate revocation checked,
Enable profile Assistant checked,
Use Fortezza checked,
Use PCT 1.0 checked,
Use SSL 2.0 checked,
Use SSL 3.0 checked,
Use TSL 1.0 checked,
warn about invalid site certificates checked and
warn if forms submittal is being redirected checked


Are those correct
