lot's of stuff that's built in:
Easier to use wireless networking
Built-in zipping, unzipping, and unraring
Built-in CD burning, although i personally don't like it
Built-in Firewall for any connection, including firewire, wireless, LAN, and dial-up
Remote Assistance so you can help your mom 3 states away while staying in the comfort of your own leather chair. This is where the most WinXP exploits come from though
If you don't like the gui, then change the style. If you still don't like it, you can go back to the plain, boring, Win2k look. Such a condescending tone you have Eryk... Keep in mind that XP is made for those who don't have your "expertise"...

Decides it LOOKING a whole lot better.
I didn't like the way WInXP looked at first. I thought it looked like a rainbow. But I went back to windows 98 and its SO BORING!! It's all grey! Trust me, the colors are worth it; plus your can get themes at places like www.themexp.org that change the colors.
2nd. Compatibility. I only play games really. A lot of games wouldn't run, or wouldn't run WELL on win2000. I also get about 200 more 3dmark 2001 marks with XP over 2000.

I would have to say some of my personal favorite features are the system restore and driver rollback features of Windows XP. |
