Windows Install shortcut

I was just installing W98se on a machine....it wouldnt do the first reboot...until I did an fdisk/mbr.

Anyway, when it did finally reboot it started detecting the hardware.

So A lil shortcut came to me.

What if I had just made a ghost of the install at that point..before the reboot in other words.

Could I then simply ghost that to other machines and save that much trouble....ghost it and then simply boot right there and let it install the hardware??

Whaddya think?

I have done the deal where you ghost the full install to another machine and delete the hkey local machine/enum key....but would this other method also work??

But this would be before the hardware was detected.

But thats what I am wondering...if there was any detection going on before that point.

Sounds quite interesting. I can't say if it would work or not but how would you actually Ghost it. Would you copy it to another disk? and then Ghost the copy. Would you use another computer and run Ghost from there?
