| Windows XP Activation? (sysprep perhaps?)
I did a 'reference' build of a K7S5A...ran sysprep on it...ghosted it to some restore cd's.
Now, I was under the impression that there is 30 days to activate windows xp...are there any other limitations such as number of boots or anything??
Does sysprep change the issue any?
Because twice now when I have ghosted the image onto my system I would boot and use it a few times it would all of a sudden tell me on one of the boots that it had to be activated to be used and did I want to activate it now etc...?
Whats up with that? Is it a fluke? Earlier today its telling me I have 30 days, lol, now its telling me I have to activate to log on...?
Thanks, JP

I have had the same thing happen to me when I build comps for people. Most recent one I built installed XP and like 3 days later it wouldn't let me logon cuz it said I had to activate b4 it would work. I don't know why Microsoft does that. I think it is pretty stupid.

Yup, it goes off of the install date, which is NOT when you sysprepped it.
