scanner software problem
I currently have a HP Model 5370C scanner. What do you folks use for software when the software available from HP won't do what you want it to? I am currently scanning old photos and I would like to be able to load it up with several photos and scan, instead of one at a time. I can use the software that I am saving my photos in, but it requires more time than scanning one photo at a time. My sister has a Cannon brand scanner that will scan several photos at once and then you can select them individually. Any favorites out there? Free of course is good but I will pay for something that is very flexible and can be setup to do what I want.

The only thing I know of is regular editing software..like Arcsoft photo Impression or whatever...or maybe even Microsoft Photo editor....to scan all the pics at once but then go to edit that one big pic by cropping each individual pic. Maybe there is software that is intelligent enough to auto crop em or seperate em...is that what you are saying her software will do?

Yes her software will do that. I was cropping each pix out of the batch and that was more time consuming than scanning each individual pix. I have hundreds to do, back to early forties. I'm almost tempted to go buy another scanner. Thanks, Mike

I would see if the software she has will work on your machine. Once a scanner is installed, the driver may work with a variety of software, including this one of your sister's.
As an example, I have a scanner that once installed I can aquire photos in Corel Photopaint, Adobe Photoshop and Magic - all are photoediting software.
i would try installing this software on your machine and see if it will work.now THIS is interesting....
