Dial-up settings question

Dial-up settings question

Hi everybody

I have Windows 2000 running on an IBM T22. This system has been running I.E. 5.5 successfully prior to the last few days. No new installs have been made. I checked for spyware and found none. Whether used on a LAN, dial-up or a broadband connection, the I.E. connection box always appear when I.E. is launched.

The connection settings can be changed to never dial a connection however that setting reverts back to Always dial a connection after I logout or reboot.

This also occurs for any other user on the system. All of the users tried have admin rights on the box.

Any thoughts as to how to get the Never dial a connection setting to stick? Thanks

Try to delete any Dial up connections you may have:
Control Panel/Network and Dial-up Connections

Also delete any dial up adapters you may have.
Right click on your local area connections icon.

Anyhow look at the properties and settings for these things before you delete them so you can re-install them later.

I am just going out on a limb here that this may help. You can always try.

control panal/ internet option/ connection
click on I like to manual conect and take it from there
