| XP and IPconfig..Shortcut?
I want to put a shortcut on my desktop to IPCONFIG ?
XP doesn't seem to like that idea.. Any thoughts>
I have tried also to with notepad, typeipconfig /all pause
and save it as a bat file..
Oh and how in the heck do I close my dos window in XP? |

Close with 'exit'.
Don't know about the open with a shortcut thing though.

copy this into a ipconfig.bat file
right click on the desktop, and select new text file
then rename it to ipconfig.bat
then right click on it and select edit
cut and paste
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
echo off
echo **here ya go!!**
pause
cd\
ipconfig /all
echo **do ya feel better now?**
pause
<<<<<<<<<<<
It at leasts works for me
Also, you can click on the X to close the dos windows too..... |

thanks hirschy! ya, i got tired of going thru a command prompt on nt to get the ip, so I played around a little and came up with that!
a batch file is nice too though because then you can make a menu for choosing from different dos utilities to run if you wanted.
cyas!
