"Altnet creates products that integrate with P2P applications and web sites to allow content owners to securely deliver digital media over Altnet’s P2P network"

looks like you have a p2p software running that is eating up your bandwidth

anything unusual running in the task manager?

GroundZero3: there is nothing unusual running, BUT before SVCHOST was using 97% CPU, currently using 74%, fluctuating.

It apppears your system has been infected with Altnet adware. The most popular source for Altnet is Kazaa. The Kazaa client uses Altnet for serving client-side ads.
