Well, Im two weeks into my Japanese 1 class that im taking this summer. Its a 5credit course condensed into 6weeks, so it moves at a very accelerated pace. Ive learnt to write and read hiragana and katakana, which are each comparable to our alaphabet in English. We started Kanji a few days ago, AND MAN can it be confusing. Since a symbol can mean multiple syllables, I cant see how one would quickly read through it. But Im sure it'll just take some getting used to. Typing in Jap is quite ...
Bought a laptop this morning! Dell Vostro 1400 14", 1.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB, 160GB, 8400GS, 9Cell battery. 1100$ retail, shipped for 636$ Was going to get ~400$ laptop on Black Friday since this will be mainly for mobile programming use. But then I realized for slightly more the Core2 and dedicated GPU will be helpful if I want to game at all, and for HD content (Anime). Ive heard the 9cell should get me close to 6 hours. Its coming with Vista Basic. ...
Recently finished a few animes, and I thought I would give some personal opinions on them. No spoilers will be included; so if you comment, try not to reveal anything as well. Lucky Star - Quite an entertaining comedy. Different from the norm, with an amazing OP. Some topics are overused throughout, but lots of laughs none-the-less. No drama or unnecessary emotional scenes, so its was relaxing to watch. I would expect a few OVAs to follow. Lovely Complex - ...
This weekend, played in a club tournament. Alabama, USF, UCF, FSU, UGA, FIU, Eckerd, and Rollins all brought a few teams. We had a 32round draw. On saturday, I played two singles and two doubles matches. Won all of them. Although Alabama gave us some trouble second round. We didnt finish that last doubles match till 9:30PM, and we won in a 3rd set tie breaker. This mourning we played in the semi-finals against UCF (A Team). I only played singles and lost ...
Full title: Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi 50 episodes long, pretty entertaining throughout. Action shounen genre with some comedy The story isnt very deep, but its spread out well and executed nicely. All training is depicted, unlike most anime where characters become stronger out of nowhere. Fights range from a few minutes to 1-2 episodes. The fights are "Street Fighter like" without any of the "powers." Fans of DBZ, pokemon, ...
Claymore ended up being an excessive power-up fest. Plot went bad about half way through. Powers got out of hand. I hope they dont plan on doing a second season. Reminded me of FNS alot. Plot starts out at a good pace. Then the ending gets way out of hand. Why the obsessive amount of characters as well? They spend a few episodes on a select amount of characters, but then try to develope other characters in a few minutes. I couldnt even differieniate some of the ...

At work I downloaded the Community Combined Codec Pack to watch certain types of video files. I installed MCP and Zoom Player, and have been using the Zoom Player since Ive never tried it. I like it. The default skin is visually pleasing, and its pretty basic. It actually looks like it'd go really well with Vista. The program opens up quickly and has a compact Audio Mode. If it is able to play EVERY type of video that MCP can, I will most likely use it as my default ...
Club practice has been going on for the past two weeks here at UF. Im beginning to get back to the level I was at in high school. We have a pretty good club here, they ranked 3 in the nation last year, which would be equivalent to about a division 2 or 3 team. Theres a Doubles Tournament in Tallahasse on the 22nd. I wasnt planning on playing, but my brothers partner just found out he couldnt go. Which means the Brotherly Duo is back. Yesterday at practice we played the best doubles ...
