  2. Learning Powershell

    by , April 18th, 2013 at 06:42 PM
If you haven’t noticed lately PowerShell in Windows is becoming the norm and with future OS/application releases of Window (unless you have been living under a rock). For some windows administrators this is going to be a very tough move since they grew up on the GUI and haven’t really done much when it comes to command line anything (unless they were forced to do it for a fix of some sort). Over the last few days, I've been working with some co-workers who are doing some pretty cool things when ...

  3. Python for kids

    by , March 20th, 2013 at 06:21 PM
For a while now I've always wanted to learn about programming but I have ADD when it comes to the python manuals or any kind of programming language books that are out there. Its like as soon as I open the book my mind just stops working and wants nothing to do with what im about to read. This has been something that has been holding me back for a very long time in my IT career and it was pretty frustrating to me since I really think I would benefit learning some kind of programming language ...

  4. Battlefield 3 server timeout issues

    by , August 14th, 2012 at 04:14 AM
I was experiencing timeout issues after being in the game no more than a few minutes.

To fix this I had to go into services start > run > services.msc

find discovery and UPNP device host and stop both services and disable them from starting up.

    Cleared up my problem!

  5. Metasploit Unleashed

    by , June 9th, 2012 at 03:19 PM
Here is a great site for you to learn about metasploit. All you need is backtrack, virtualbox (or vmware workstation/player), and a little bit of free time.

    Metasploit Unleashed

For those going through the guide, under the Information gathering section and the Dradis framework. It looks like dradis is not installed by default under the latest version of backtrack I'm using (v5 r2)

to install it is simple, do apt-get install dradis
    then start as ...

  6. To the cloud!

    by , June 7th, 2012 at 02:18 PM
Whew been a while since I’ve posted on here, I would like to post more on this when it comes to stuff I’ve figured out. I have switched jobs a few months ago and between all the company training, some traveling, and my guard duty I haven’t had a lot of time to work on any projects to post!

Currently I am attending training for Amazon web services (AWS); I would like to thank the Tim’s for the excellent week of training. The knowledge and the patience you showed over the week ...

  8. Default route issues on Polycom VBP

    by , January 25th, 2012 at 12:40 PM
We ran into an issue when setting up our VBP that was kind of annoying. We are running software version 11.2.3 when this was written up, the VBP pretty much runs some hacked up version of Linux which is a router/polycom service.

We had a public ip address that we assigned to the WAN interface, the default gateway is actually a different network.

So public ip address is 65.x.x.x. and the gateway started with 63.x.x.x.x
We are using the public Google DNS server ...

  10. MS Lync (from eval version to full)

    by , December 5th, 2011 at 02:33 PM
If you are taking advantage of the 180 day trial and you purchase a full version, never fear moving from the eval to the licensed version is very simple.

Updating From the Evaluation Version of Microsoft Lync Server 2010

Now FYI when I tried to run the command Enable-CsComputer I got an error saying I couldnt do it. Good ole Windows 2008 bit me in the ass. You need to right click the Lync management shell and click Run as administrator and then you should be able ...
