Cisco 4400 Controller HOWTO
Posted January 9th, 2008 at 11:56 AM by GroundZero3
Our work purchased a Cisco 4400 as we will be deploying about 75+ access points in the next couple of months. Instead of having to configure every device by itself, the controller allows us to make something like templates to apply to access points with different configurations as we need it.
I wrote this up about two months ago using various Cisco documentations and trial error in a lab environment. It's pretty simple to setup if you have basic knowledge of wireless, vlans, and using Cisco products. I hope to be able to test out some of the Cisco wireless phones once we deploy this into our buildings. Probably the most difficult thing was implementing this setup with the controller in one building and the access points in another. This document is built around that setup hence the advance DHCP manipulation. Any questions or comments please feel free to ask!
(Note this was written up as documentation for reference, not an English essay to be graded)
