Here is a great site for you to learn about metasploit. All you need is backtrack, virtualbox (or vmware workstation/player), and a little bit of free time.

For those going through the guide, under the Information gathering section and the Dradis framework. It looks like dradis is not installed by default under the latest version of backtrack I'm using (v5 r2)

to install it is simple, do apt-get install dradis
then start as the instructions say go to /pentest/misc/dradis
run ./start.sh
now to access the local webpage of the database use https instead of http
