Boston Trip..

Posted September 28th, 2007 at 06:29 PM by KarmaKiller
As I'm sure most of you know by now, but I just got back from my Boston Vacation. I had a blast. Got to see one of my good friends that moved away to work at MIT. Which was really nice.
He took us all around the city, kind of a crash course on Boston really..lol

I have to say just the normal day to day routine there is sooo much different then here. First the sheer amount of people there is crazy for me. Not to mention the Subways & Bus really being the main form of transportation there. I don't really know if I could live there myself. Pretty crazy up there.

But anywho, I got to check out the MIT campus, which was really cool. Got to see some of the labs in some departments. Also checked out one of their clusters they have setup there, which that was pretty neat.
Also got to sit in on a lecture about securing vehicular wireless setups. Which was amazing really, but I'll save that for another blog..hehe

We walked the Freedom Trail, which takes you by alot of different historical sites, which was really neat. I got to see Ben Franklin's family grave site. Also went to the spot where the British landed when invading(or attempting too i guess) America. I guess I'm a bit of a history buff so I found most of this really interesting.

Also checked out Harvard's campus, which is nothing like I expected it to be. But really the highlights for me was the food.(go figure) They have some really awsome places to eat up there. I had everything from seafood to sheperd's pie. Also had a great brunch on sunday morning. Place around here quit serving breakfast around 10:30am. Unless it's IHOP of Waffle House, which isn't really the best IMO. So brunch at a restaurant is also kind of new for me...lol

But all in all I had a great time, and I would really like to go back soon to see some of the stuff I missed..
I'm posting some pics also, so check those out if you want to...

Exactly why I like bigger cities. By 1 a.m. here, the town is shut down. While I was in Boston, we stayed out many times to 4-5 a.m. Which I like the option of having.
Not to mention all the Historical sites in Boston. I'm enjoy history, so I found it that interesting.
Also like the fact that one minute your looking a Ben Franklin's grave, then you can walk across the street and be in the huge skyscrapers. We have nothing like that here, so I found it amusing...
