Discovery of Anywhere.fm
Have you ever wished you knew of a service that lets you upload and listen to songs online? I know I did - and that is why I am glad I recently discovered the power of Anywhere.fm!
For those who don't know, Anywhere.fm is a service that essentially allows users to upload their music collection, then have it available online wherever they go. Registration consists of simply entering a username and password you want, then you're ready to begin uploading files.
The only thing I noticed after 10 minutes of use was that it tends to bog down my Internet connection far too much. For example, while streaming a song and playing an online video game, my ping increased ~100MS while streaming.
If you're not fully convinced of the power of Anywhere.fm, other services like deezer.com offer a similar user experience.
I don't fully understand how a service such as Anywhere.fm can remain free as it gets bigger, but it is still pretty cool. I recommend at least taking a quick look at the web site.

| | Will this type of service be a target for the music industry and royalty charges, I wonder? ![]() Cheers Mick |

| | I suppose that since anywhere.fm isn't letting anyone else listen to your music, they can't be considered to be broadcasting like a radio station. Sketchy at best. I'm with Mike though, there's no way it can stay free, even ad-supported, if the service gets popular enough. Someone has to pay for the pipe. |
