Most people around here don't know but back in July I started working for the start-up social search engine Mahalo.com. I was working from home as one of their "PTG's" and eventually worked my way to becoming a mahalo mentor and eventually reach the next level of RFTG (remote full time guide)
Basically we quality controlled pages, trained PTG's and help answer questions about the page building process.
So fast FWD to the end of November and we get this story posted on my blog. Basically a full month after the work was done they decided they don't want to pay for half of the pages.
Needless to say this was not the way I wanted kick off the holidays! Unfortunately it looks like this is going to sour the first month or two my New Year as well
Edit: 1/31/08 today was their last day to pay up and there was no resolution or any further contact. So it looks like I get to go through the tortures of the legal system.

| | Curious, any news or updates about the situation? |

| | Not really no. I'm following the legal steps towards a law suit so I had to wait until they sent me the information for November's payments. We are one month behind so that came in at the end of the month. I sent them a letter for demand of payment and have been waiting to hear back from them. |

| | The latest, I sent my demand for payment letter which they received on Monday at about 12:15pm. I received a phone call from them about 5mins later, even though I asked to be contacted in writing. I didn't get the original call so it went to voice mail. Surprise surprise they didn't leave a message. I got roughly 6 calls from them Monday, not one message, and one yesterday that simply said who it was from (CK the editorial manager) and his number to call him back. I have yet to return their call as I want their response in writing. |
