test!....and cheap cameras

I love getting a good steal on tech items. At work, we've had a couple of Olympus 1000 10mp cameras sitting around that wouldn't sell. This weekend is our quarterly friends & family event, and the company decided to take $50 off all clearance Olympus cameras. Even better, they threw on a 20% off coupon that stacked! So I got a $325 retail camera that was on clearance for ~$180 and ended up being $111. Throw in a 2gb XD card on sale for $40 and a 1 year replacement plan (because I drop things). I didn't even break two hundred bucks. I wish the camera had an optical viewfinder and a few more buttons, but its a nifty little point and shoot. It'll hold around 450 images in SHQ mode, and will shoot video on quicktime format. It'll even do 16:9 HDTV images by letterboxing the top and bottom. macro mode is ok. Lighting is hard to get right, and this is made worse by the lack of easy access to the menu to change aperature. I think it only has auto-focus on it also, but I've only played with it for 15 minutes. oh well. w00t for cheap cameras and w00t for blogs on TIMO.
peace out, I'm ghost.
