| So, what the heck is an MCP?
Is "Microsoft Certified Professional" just the general name assigned to certs such as MCSA, MCSE, etc, or is there an actual cert(s) called "MCP"?
If so, can someone direct me to the certification paths somewhere, or give me more info?
If not, can you explain exactly what a "Microsoft Certified Professional" actually is?
Thanks folks!

uh, yeah, that's the page that got me wondering.
It is not clear to me what is what, exactly. If you click on any of the certs, such as the "MCSA" link, it takes you to a different page which explains the path to that cert and other requirements, however, if you click on the "MCP" link, it doesn't go anywhere (or rather, it takes you back to the same page)... so, I'm not clear if it's just a bad link or what.
Anybody willing to explain?
Thanks. |

After you pass a single microsoft test, you become a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
If you want to become an MCSE or an MCSA you must pass several specific MCP tests.

It drives me insane when somebody feels its necessary in their email signatures to put
MCP, MCSE
Well DUH, if you're an MCSE you have an MCP by default.
All it does is make you look like you have more certifications than you really do.
Its not like putting CNA, MCSE
