What about ITT Techs Electronics and Communication Engineering Technology? It's a 4-year bachelors degree, and it looks intrigueing. But reading what I have all over the internet makes me now very weary of ITT.
Does ITT have problems with every area/degree/etc? Especially with finding a job afterwards? |

| I'm in the ITT in Ft Lauderdale, Fl and I’m currently in my 4th quarter in my CNS program. well what can I say, as far as the first 3 quarters I think are totally a waste of time and money. especially at $400 a credit. as far as transferring credits i have found only one school in my area that will take it(but is no different from ITT). reason that ITT credits won't be accepted by other schools is not only the curriculum is not up to par but that ITT is a nationally accredited school. as appose to most universities and state colleges that are regionally accredited...that’s what you must look for all you people looking to go in college, I wish I knew that before I signed up for ITT.
As far as the ITT curriculum goes well that I guess is up to the person. in other words if you ARE TOTALY COMPUTER ILLITERATE well I guess ITT is good for you. from what I see as long as you attend class(sometimes not even) you pass the courses. what amazes me is how some people have no clue how to install an OS. even install XP pro. or still can't configure anything in a OS, I ask myself how the F*** did they get this far in the term and still not knowing how to add a new user in XP pro??well from what I see most teachers give open book tests, some even walk in and out of class while testing leaving everyone to whisper "what's the answer for number...?" or curve the test so much, that students who got bad grades could pass the test, I mean come on what I’m I paying for if I study twice as hard as the other guy and we are still in the same term and he/she still can't recite the OSI model or configure an IP address manually.
Also being that you cannot miss 3 classes in a row or they will drop you makes some students miss 2 classes and then come to 1 and get this still pass with a B average GO FIGURE. I currently have a 3.8 but only because of math. otherwise I would have a 4.0. intro to computer programming I got a 101 as my final grade. not just because I studied hard but because of all the curved tests. and all the test where open book even the final exam which to me was a joke. I of course studied anyway because I do it for my understanding but some of my classmates(not all) said they don't bother to study if it's open book. not to mention that exams are a joke anyway. to me that makes it too easy to pass and that's why when they get their associates degree and go into the real world and happen to land a job, employers fire them because of their incompetence and see "well this guy went to ITT I guess we're not going to hire anyone from that school" this is why I’m thinking of just getting out now(even if it means losing my credits except my GE Credits)and going to a traditional University.
So for you people thinking about going to ITT caveat emptor!! and for the people saying that these forums do nothing but bash ITT. well, having bad experiences do that to you, and BTW I go to every class and study for all exams and do all my homework and I still don't get that satisfaction that this school is challenging enough for me. so if you just want an easy degree with not a big challenge and feel like paying 40k(some medical schools are 25k a year just to give you an idea) than go to ITT tech.
Now I'm not saying we should go to MIT or Caltech but try to find some curriculums that have a challenge to expand your technical skill. GOOD LUCK!!! |

They lost my paperwork for financial aid frequently, gave me horrible teachers who didn't know their "stuff" and repeatedly refused to contact me back when I withdrew from their stupid school and didn't process the paperwork. I even emailed ALL the DEANS regarding my issues, still no one returned my emails or follow up phone calls. They don't care about anything but money, and even when they sent me statements showing I had a zero balance, they sent me a bill for $630 LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE IT WAS DUE WITH NO NOTIFICATION!!!! These jerks have been the biggest mistake of my life, and I have to pay for it. DO NOT GO!!!!! |

My dad has been workin in the IT field for about 15 years now and everyone he has ever hired from Devry /ITT Tech he has had to fire for being dumb lol...that made my schooling choices down. You can get a great education at a community college. Hell community college is helping me get my CCNA lol |

bout to start 2nd semester at ITT
so far not really satisfied with it, ive felt like ive taken a step backwards
only reason i chose it was location, other schools computer courses were still new (nomore than 2 years) & trying to bypass as many gen eds as possible, since i dont really have book smarts, id burn out on gen eds quick having to take 2years before i get to what im going for
i just wanna take classes to get the certifications |
