but theres only so much i can learn on my own without being in the business | Don't worry! There are plenty of jobs and chances to make good money and start a great career without experience! Some forget that they didn't have experience when they first started. you cannot get the experience unless some gives you a chance first!! Period! I am a prime example. If you take the class, learn the material, practice in a test lab of some sort, and really EARN your certifications the hard way without using Braindumps to cheat, you will be alright. I have seen and worked with so many MCSE's that don't even know how to share and list a printer in AD. Come on!! The certifications and education will get you the interview, but your performance during the interview will get you the job. There are many who aren't even given a chance to gain the work experience unless they first have the certifications or degrees. Noone comes out of their mother's womb with the experience they need to work as a network engineer. They have to eventually get the chance to gain that WORK experience by someone. Many hiring managers forget that they were once inexperienced and that someone gave them a chance, or they wouldn't be sitting int he position they are now...unless they own it.
Get the education, get the certifications, so when you are given the chance, you will know what you are doing and aren't trying to learn from the groud up since you have built a foundation through you learning. |

| DEVRY ONLINE IS OUTSTANDING
Who ever is looking to join Devry/Keller's online program please donot think of that, there system is extremely complex, no help for Students, all they are doing is making money for Degree.I should say NCA or the educational authorities should cancel there Affiliation and accredential at least for online courses offered.
I paid $1267+ to a collection agency to get Rid of the charges posted to my public record. I dropped the course because there system is very difficult teacher (Mark Revel) are not helpful at all, no system to notify a student about online course activities, Tree layout discussion forum with no sorting and searching a collection of text impossible to read and traverse, posting of result is too late for a person to decide to drop. they know all ways to make money.
Professor Mark Revel worst teacher i met in last 22 years of my educational experience
Advisor Stephen Mitchell - Sweetest Lier on planet.
Paul Harry (In Collection) Nice person sympathizing but looking to help.
Wish they should themselves have taken this online degree courses or there kids should.
Who ever ate this $1200.00 of my hard earned money I pray from my heart they and there kids die spitting blood with no one to help them as well.
Read more about this on other websites as well.
Student ID at Devry : D02833651. |

| Don't waste your time at ITT!!!!
I joined this forum just to answer this question. Pick Devry I am actually looking into going there myself. I spent a year at ITT only to find out that they weren't really accredited. (Your credits will not transfer to other schools) I 'm looking into Devry right now so if I decide to stay in school after getting my BA I can transfer to a university. |

Welcome to TechIMO.
Devry has a limited transferability, meaning that not every class you take will actually transfer and some classes that do will not transfer to every school. Worse some transferable classes will transfer as generic credits so beware of what you think is an advantage because it has its own golden lining.
There are pro's and con's to each school and both being Technical Trade Schools more than anything else, there are things you need to accept when applying and attending. You omit the need for standard history, science, english lit, and such for the faster pace and targeted training. |

I am currently attending ITT Tech in Omaha, NE and the statement that your dad had to fire every person that he has hired from Devry/ITT well my response to that is that your dad is the dumb one because he obviously does not know how to screen the people he interviews. Not all people from ITT/Devry are dumb, some of us actually try to learn and let me tell you I have learned a lot since I have started ITT.
I also think that you all are stupid sitting here complaining about schools. You obviously have nothing better to do with your pathetic little lives.
Yes ITT has a screwed up system of grading but they do actually teach things they just make it too easy for some of the students. |

You sound like you were paid to say that. There's alot of of dumbass kids at my school.
This school is frustrating as hell and now I realize I should have just gone elsewhere.
One of the courses was written for Windows2000. Given theres little changes there was still alot of crap we had to skip through. I did alot of it although it had to be done differently. Then she tried to assign a project on something she didn't even teach us, how the hell are we supposed to do the project?????
Currently what's been on my nerves... Halfway through the quarter the teachers in 2 of my classes disappear. They didn't submit what I had done so far to who took over. Week before finals they tell me I have to resubmit everything from before they took over. For the most part I just wrote it up in class and turned it in on the spot, they didn't want me to email for some reason otherwise I'd have copies from email. Sure as fuck ain't no way I'm doing everything over again because of some fuckwits screwing shit up.
So I failed my Math2 course. Before I even began the quarter to make it up I told the program chair guy whatever who's supposed to handle the shit for me, I want tutoring. Over the time I keep pestering him about it and he keeps telling me he "forgot" so I didn't start to get tutoring till 2/3 way through quarter. And when I did go in I didn't get the full amount of tutoring time. Half the time they were too busy for me, or weren't there at all. Only 1 day did I get full amount of tutoring time. I barely finished chapter 1.

So they are telling me despite doing everything assigned landed me the same grade as if I didn't do the shit.
Me and some other guy are in the same situation I guess, he's sitting over on the other side of the lab waiting for em to look over his HDD as well, both expecting them to find some reason we should do shit to make up for what we "didn't" do.
I guess even the teachers don't like this school because alot have been quitting. Most of them still here are the ones who suck at teaching. I dread my next programming course cause that guy doesn't really know how to use MS Vis Studio. Ends up asking us questions on stuff.
Everytime I see them escorting someone around looking into schools I just wanna be like "YOU DON'T WANNA GO HERE!!" |

Lol ... something to remember is that each school is in a different area and were not talking about the sam ITT or Devry campus. Here in the bay area/silicon valley its impossible not to get quality instructors because they can hire away from public/private sector people and get them to teach or help build up teaching materials.
Either way, in a couple years someone might be saying how they had the best experience because the only place to go for these schools is up. |
