    UNIX/Linux Cert help

    Hello all,

Seeing as tho it would be very helpful for my carrier to have certifications, I would like to get into some UNIX/Linux stuff. Being a complete noob Im wondering if there are any good Certification books (or anything else you might suggest) for noobs (from complete beginnings to learning the necessary knowledge for passing a certification). Im doing some work for Warner Bros right now and they have several UNIX/Linux systems and knowing more about how UNIX/Linux works helps my client relationship alot which looks good on my review!

What about practicing at home? I currently have Mandrake 10.1, Fedora Core 3, and Solaris 10 downloaded but I dont know which one I should commit to learning first (yeah I've heard Solaris is difficult so maybe I should put that on the sidelines for now).

    Thanks for the suggestions.

dont worry about learning a specific distro just yet. Start learning the basics (you can pick whatever linux distro you want to play around with)

Learn how to use the terminal and all that fun stuff, where stuff is located, how to edit, etc
