Arrow best field and certification if im into...

I was wondering what is the best field to get into if i decide to go to a tech school and what is the certifications i should get if im into computer repair and troubleshooting type stuff. also i know alot about networking but eager to learn more

Just a quick background on myself... i been working with pc's since i was bout 12 im now about to be 20, i got my GED attended Marshall University and majored in IT Cisco Networking, but unfortunately i had to withdraw from school recently because of the expense and to help out my family. Now im tryin to decide whats best for me, as far as certifications i can get while i have this downtime. and what exactly i need to get into when i decide to go back to a tech school coming in August

    i appreciate any help

Computer repair? Like going to other people's homes, and fixing their pc's...

Gee guy how much does it cost to take the CCNA? You already have a foundation in Cisco Networking I'd say go for it. Then maybe take the Security Plus afterwards. Just my two cents. Maybe with those two you can get a foot in the door with your other experince.

If your previous university education was in Cisco, take a few CCNA practice exams. If you do >90% on them go to the CCNA right away. If you don't do a little self study and get it.

After that, get the old standby A+ technician certification.

After that it depends what you want to do. If you want to work on home computers then get an MCP in Windows.

For getting experience, volunteer. Unless you are desperate for money, volunteer anywhere they will take you to do the computer work you want to do.

    Cool go for it all

dud i went to a 2 year tech school and got a cert in A+ but never went and did the A+ exam But now im 28 and ready to take it then im going after the ccna then onto ccsia then ccie. Because cicso pay very well to there employees and puts them through school etc, Also if your going to go for smething dont stop at go, Get around the board and collect every cert you can get. cause in the long un you will be far better then most techs . your only 20 if you stay in it for the next 10+ years bro you will make bank plus retire at 40 or teach skys the limited take this downtime to read and learn everything you can. Im 28 and wasted 6 years being out of the computer field and now im paying for it be wise with your time
