    Smile Need advise

Hi, I just happened to stumble onto this site today when I was looking up more info on itt-tech. I am in the healthcare field currently and want to do a career change to computers. I've already checked out both itt-tech and devry into their computer software engineering and network/information securities programs. From what I've read so far, I'm surpised at the backlash for itt-tech. I also visited another site with so 3 reviews on Devry. I already have a BS degree and took an intro to computer class. I got a certificate in computer operations almost 19 years ago from CLC in S.F. Since these tech school seem so bad. Do you suggest a AA degree first in computer science or just take classes at a CC and then transfer into a 4yr college like UW-Tacoma?

Any advise will be greatly appreciated!

Well are you looking to completely move over to the computer field? If so how old are you?

Age can be a tough thing these days since computers are being introduced to kids at younger age. Besides school you will need some sort of hands on experience because the paper degrees wont get you far in this field anymore. Businesses got smart and are more focused on hands on. Dont get me wrong school is important but dont think you are going to make "the $65,000 and above" for just going to school you have another thing coming.

I'm in my late 30's. Computers has always been my first love. I more or less want to combine my love for computers with my healthcare background and help work in that arena because most healthcare institutions are moving into the computer age. I'm looking into either working for a company like CERNER writing programs for computerized charting or other companies that deal with protecting healthcare information.
