Current State of Resume
Hey all, I'm trying to get into the IT security field and was looking for any input as to what I should do at this point to help me learn a lot and get a job doing what I love. Currently I am a sophmore going to be a junior at a respectable 4 year university, have a GPA around 3.3 in B.S. of Management Information Systems, and am currently working on A+ and Network + certs. What should would your advice be for the last 2 years of my college to point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Are you working in the IT field now? I would try to get something where you can say you have hands on right now.
Look into the secuirty + also. Dont think these certs will really get you anywhere. Most jobs are looking for real world experience

Look for internships around where you live. They dont pay much, but they give you real world experience. Check with your counselor at your university, she/he will help guide you.The Beatings Will Stop When Morale Improves

I second internships and even just good old volunteering at businesses. Get the Security+ as well. Between A+, Net+ and Sec+ you have a good certification base line.
